I posted the following on the "General Tech Help" forum a couple days ago and have gotten no responses. There seem to be some great Techs reading the XK8/R forum, so I thought I'd try it here - - -

Just this year I sold a 1993 XJ6 VDP and acquired a 2005 XJ8L and a 2006 XK8. I am a gearhead, but recognize my ability to work on the newer cars will probably be limited due to their sophistication. I have ordered an OBDCOM scanner, but do not have it yet. Anyway, in the past I've always tried to have a Service Manual for any car I own, at least a Chilton's or Haynes if I can't get (or can't afford) the factory book. I am, however, finding a real void in useful, available information on my newer Jags. Anything I have found seems to be at a real high level (i.e., not much detail).

Anybody have any good leads on finding service info, wiring diagrams, etc.?

Look for Alldata repair manuals online. Hope it helps.

 

Thanks, Alex. I've had mixed results with Alldata. Sometimes they have very complete data and sometimes not. Problem is, you have to subscribe to see what they've got. Anybody out there using them on a late model Jag??

The last Jaguar TIS has the 2004 XJ8 and xk8, not much going to be different with a year or two newer model. It does have wiring schematics and basic assembly/disassembly instructions for most parts. Other than that, the alldata is about the only thing available to us owners.
