Default 2005 XKR X100 top hydraulic hose leak

My hose near the top hydraulic fluid pump came loose at an attachment point facing me just above the disc player along the front side of the fluid tank. It became abraded, going through the black cladding and wearing through the wire weave cladding to allow the leak. The hose has an identifier on it. It reads: QC 19901 03. There are three pairs of hoses involved. One to and from each hydraulic ram and one to and from the top latch mechanism above the windscreen. Can anyone tell me which pair I should order? At $338.00 a set, I'd not like to *****-nilly order all 3 pairs when I only appear to need, in the view of the tech, the one pair. Thank you in advance for the help.

I think you could save a lot of money by just purchasing a hose repair coupler from Cabriolet Hydraulics. I recently used two of them to make extended hoses for my Z4 system and they are great.

Did anyone use the Cabriolet Hydraulics' Hydraulic Hose Repair Couplers on an XK8?
Their description on the company site looks similar to the Jag's discontinued hose repair kit. So, I wonder whether the Hydraulic Hose Repair Couplers will prove to be a better solution.

Thank you.

from my perspective and several others, replacement couplers simply add another break point. I purchased replacement ram hoses from Cabriolet Hydraulics 5 years ago and still holding up strong - much better quality, higher pressure rating than the Jaguar hoses. I believe a full set is around $600 compared to the price much higher for 6 Jag hoses.

Have you done the pressure reduction mod yet? That is a must do.

Considering where the break is I would do the hose repair provided the pressure was reduced.

There are much worse places a hose could fail on these cars where I would never consider a patch. In the pump area is not one of them. The patch would be a gamble I would take.

If they are anything like the coupler repair kit that came available for the earlier X100's that Jaguar supplied, Jaguar ended up discontinuing the kit and only supplied the entire hose kit, from pump to latch.

If it's one of these 2 hoses that's leaking, then it will be the hoses from pump to latch.

Maybe you should contact them. As I wrote in my post, I used them on my Z4 and they worked. I expect they will know whether or not they work on the Jag hoses.

Did you check the black insulation on the other hoses? Mine fell apart to the white inter hose and rams leaked. I replaced the ram hoses and had them rebuilt, the front had already been done.
Do the hoses, you won't be sorry.

In my case it was the top latch hose that gave up. The PO used the Jag repair hose kit, but it didn't last.

I am hesitant to disassemble the whole vehicle in order to run the new hoses from the pump to the latch (obviously, the most reliable solution).
In the meantime I am using the manual latch operation mod that I found on this forum - works quite well.

I'll reach out to Cabriolet Hydraulics to see what they advise. Will keep you posted.

In the meantime, thank you all for the good advice.

Just received an answer from Zig Paul of Cabriolet Hydraulics: "Our couplers will not fit your hose and unfortunately there is no good way to repair your decomposing hose. You will have to replace the hose with a new one. We have new replacement hoses in stock. Thank you for the inquiry."

This answers my question of whether these couplers are usable with the factory Jag hoses.

Hope other forum members will find it useful.

Cheers, Everyone.
