Default 2006 Jaguar XK8 coolant leak

2006 Jaguar XK8 coolant leak-part.jpg

My XK8 is leaking anti freeze in the attached area. I have no idea what part I need. Someone has said the 'anti-freeze/engine coolant hose'. Does this look correct?

As noted above, the AJ89486 should fit your 06 XK8. My car was leaking at same place when purchased. The Temp sensor and Thermostat came with my replacement part assembly. Fairly easy job except for the rear 2 bolts at rear of housing against the plenum. 8 mm hex on some, mine had torx head. NOTE 8 mm = 5/16" US std. wrench. Possibly need a gasket for re sealing the plenum end plate since removal of it makes the rear bolts easier. That gasket is AJ87991. Removal of the hose clamps easier with proper tools. The clip on the coolant hose to the pressure tank takes a bit of work or can replace with a gear clamp. once finished, be sure to "BURP" the system. I filled through the upper hose loose at the plastic hsg and then quickly installed it. squeeze it repeatedly to get any air out and fill the tank and and burp again and again. Install cap and start car, ck for leaks and refill as needed. If I missed any step, you'll find it and probably complete the job w/o too much delay. OEM recommends Dex-Cool coolant, good time to flush with system open.

Thank you so MUCH! I've read forums many times...this is the first time I've actually participated so I'm amazed at how helpful people are!!! This is what I've found - Auto Zone had two of the THERMOSTAT HOUSING. AJ89486 (like you said) for $188.96 and they also had AJ82217KIT for $52.99. Do you think the cheaper one will do the trick? or should I just go ahead and get the more expensive one. AJ82217KIT is metal. AJ89486 is palstic.

Doo both come with new thermostats and coolant temp sensors. Jagbits has one listed complete with thermostat/coolant sensor and seals for $144.00. If they both have the thermostat.sensor and seals I would go metal.

Wink

I had JUST bought a Thermostat Sensor and it was actually in the mail box when when the car ran hot and the leak started. So I have a sensor. But I will check to see what comes with it. Thanks AGAIN!

Just for the record, the metal part WAS NOT THE CORRECT PART. So I had to send it back and get AJ89486. It is running great...so far!!! Thank you FORUM people!!! LOL!
