Default 2500 Miles in 13 Days in our 04 XK8

We just got back from our FL to VT trip. Our route took us thru 9 states this time. Had a great time. Top down 90% of the time enjoying warm temps and blue skies.

The XK8 performed admirably in temps ranging from 95F down to 35F. Altitudes from near sea level (FL) to ~2500ft in the Adirondacks were not a problem.

No adverse wear on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires. I have not measured the treads yet but they like they did when we left. And they are soooo... quiet.

For a change we decided to put the car on the Amtrak auto train that runs from Orlando to DC. The drive up I95 is the most boring part of the trek. The train experience was a lot of fun for us since we had never been on a train like that. Some pics from the train depot...

I think that the state of Pennsylvania owes my car an apology for the abusive road conditions there. The views were nice though in PA...

The roads in Vermont were a little better. Views were better too...

On the way home we even found an icy windshield one morning in PA...

Now the car needs a good cleaning.

Sounds like a great time. And it's always a pleasure to read about an extra-long trip in these cars with zero repair issues required. Congrats....
