303 Fabric Guard Clarification....
I have been treating my wife's 2006 XK8 convertible top with 303 High-Tech Fabric Guard annually since the summer of 2012. I remain pleased with its ability to repel water for nearly a year when sprayed properly on a clean convertible top and allowed to cure for 24 hours before exposing the car to the elements again....
Late last week I ordered my usual 32-oz. spray bottle of the product from amazon.com. It arrived in yesterday's mail and this morning I noticed that the label on the bottle reads "303 Fabric Guard for Marine Fabrics", not the "303 High-Tech Fabric Guard" that I am accustomed to . So I called the manufacturer/distributor (Gold Eagle Company) and asked whether or not this is indeed the same product. I was told that depending upon the geographic location and the intended application, either label could be applied at the factory. The good news is that the product formula is exactly the same regardless of what the label reads....
Hope this clears up any confusion for you long-time 303 customers who may have the same question when your next bottle shows up....

Thanks Jon:
I had thought that what I bought in 2011 was " marine", but upon just checking, it is the "hi tech". Although it is still beading water after about 4 years between applications, this post is reminding me that I should retreat it this summer. From my experience, I assume that their instructions to thoroughly and evenly wet on a hot, full sunny day is key.
(Since my top rarely sees the the sun, other's results may vary)

Good question. I spray, then even it out by wiping with a foam pad / sponge. I may experiment evening it out this year with a small 4" foam roller.
I just spray while my wife drags a big cotton towel around the proximity surfaces in order to protect the paint and rubber trim pieces. Takes about five minutes total. We treat the top once a year using half of a 32-ounce bottle, so a bottle lasts me two years....
