Hello all
I've just bought a 4.0l XKR, and I'm pretty sure it's in need of a new exhaust system. I've not picked it up yet so can't grovel around under it to see for myself.
Can anyone tell me if a std 4.2 system will fit on a 4.0?

It will not fit, although with some adjustments you can fit the later 4 boxes, but not worth the effort.

 

It depends how early your XK8 is, early cars had slip joints onto the cats later cars had flange, the only other difference I can think of is the rear box hanger but again the later mount bolts straight on...

A lot of hassle for no gain and I agree with Avos, not really worth it

It was more for convenience than any other gains.
My exhaust is shot and I've spotted a very cheap 4.2 system on eBay.
