Default 8.5 Front and 9.5 Rear Wheels

I am looking at a set of custom 18 inch aftermarket rims for my car but they come in 8.5 Front and 9.5 Rear. I have only heard of the standard 8 front and 9 rear. Will these dimensions cause any issues to arise? The bolt pattern and offset are fine. Tires I am looking at are 245 45 18 front and 255 45 18 rear.

I wish my rims were half an inch wider. I'm running 285/35-19's on the rear and 275/35-19's on the front with no problems. The 285's fit fine on the rear, but the sidewalls on the front rims are rather pinched. It doesn't seem to have affected tire wear, though.

I think the rims you are looking at should be fine, after all it's only 1/4 inch difference on each side of the wheel as long as the offset is the same. I added about 5/8ths of an inch to each side of the tire with no problems

And if you're going to get wider rims, get some wider tires, too. I hate that look where the rims are wider than the tires.

Rev, can you post a pic sometime of what 275s look like on the front? I've always loved super fat tyres ever since I read that the rear tyres on the Lamborghini Countach (335s, I think they were) were so fat that the police couldn't get their wheel clamps round them

Another option you can consider is 9-inch rims on rear AND front. That's what I've done, so I can widen the stance at at all four corners, and rotate the tires freely from front to back and get more miles out of them.

I've fitted Continental ExtremeContact DW 255 45 R18s to each.

I also lowered the rear by 1.25" (mina gallery lowering springs), and added 20mm aluminum billet spacers to the rear only (Paragon Design UK (XKRacer)). The stance of the car is perfect now. I really love it, and I can rotate the tires properly.
