I hate to bring it up as seems to be TABOO to many but not to me. Think there will ever be a conversion to a Ford/Chev V8 driveline in these cars? Seems to me with all the issues these cars can tend to throw ones way that years down the line it may be something to be able to throw in a Ford/Chev drive line?

There has been a world of GM/Ford conversions into the Jaguar. Check out the JagsThatRun.com web site.

I am putting a 5.0 Ford V8 into a Volvo at the moment.

Just as the years upfold on our 97, wife aint getting rid of it, and it does look nice, it may get to a point where it is cheaper to CONVERT this model year if avail, then to keep it all orig and running. Hell Idon't know, just babbling.

If you don't care about ABS then you could put a Ford/Chevy engine/trans. ABS is on the CAN buss and will not work without the ECM/TCM input from the network without some sort of electronic reconfiguring. The brakes will default to regular braking system. You would also need to rig up some sort of instrument cluster for speedo (no ABS for speed sensor input) and tach (different engine managment) engine temp??

I've thought about this, should the AJ-V8 ever fail. I'm usually more of a Ford guy, but a Chevy LS7 would be quite nice under the hood of one of these.
