Default 97 Xk8 TB swap

The TB on my 97 appears to be dead. Is the process of taking it of and putting a rebuilt in it's place hard? It look like tight back there but any special tools needed?

No special tools needed 45 minute job, the trickiest bit is getting the water pipe off

It's easy enough to remove that I pull it off just to make room to work on the hoses back there. Ditto on the water pipe but you can nurse it off, be patient.

where is the water pipe? Which side? Special tools needed or will my typical stuff to work on cars work? I am thinking about starting to pull it to have it replaced. If that does not do it then the computer goes out for repair.

As you are looking at the car it is on the right hand side but it connects to the block on the left via a steel pipe coming from just above your starter motor, you might find it easier to disconnect from there.
