what is LKQ?
There are some diagrams available on the FAQ page, very top of this subforum, look for parts diagrams files and the other parts files. . If it doesn't allow you access, please read my signature link for an explanation. Some files are hosted off-forum, which anyone can view.

LKQ= Like Kind Quality.
It is an insurance nomenclature meaning that if your car had 50,000 miles on it and a replacement part was available that met the same standards (a good used part of similar wear and quality AKA "Like Kind Quality", then it was approved for installation.)
An insurance company is NOT going to authorize a brand new transmission for a 7 year old car!!!!! It will however replace it with an LKQ unit from a similar salvaged car.
