Default 98 to 2002 timing chain difference

Are the timing chains and guides different between 98 and 02? I can get a better price on a kit for a 2002 with metal tensioners, chains and guides. If they are different, are they a direct bolt in upgrade?

The '02 MY upgraded to the chain/sprocket of the 4.2L engines in February of '02. They are different from the earlier ones. You do not identify your car but if it is the older version you need to order that version. The tensioners are the same.
