'98 xk8 convertible electrical trouble after heavy rains
Good evening gentlemen, yes I am well aware that it's not the best idea to park the cat outside, especially during heavy rains but life is as it is. So to the problem that I am currently trying to narrow to something simpler.
I tried to start the jag after 3 weeks (2 of those was raining) and several problems that I haven't encountered before. I am used to abs/traction fault, windows needing reset or occasional gearbox fault due to low voltage on battery, other then that never had a problem. This time I completely lost control over windows (they only go down when I open the door, no response for the switch on either side, but mirrors are still controlable), park selenoid is not working, boot and fuel cap release not responding, central locking is not working, neither the alarm when I use the key to lock the drivers door and also the soft top is not responding.
Now what's still working: I can start the engine normally, transmission works normally (if I bypass the park lock selenoid), lights work normally. I didn't try turn indicators or wipers. I didn't get to read for fault codes with propper diagnostic tool yet, but on-dash diagnostic is giving me these fault codes: open boot and open bonnet (they are closed and I never had problem with this), low washer fluid (it's full), rear bulp failiure (they all seem to work normally) and electrical fault (never seen this one before), beside that it gives me ABS/TC fault but since it's pretty common I don't think it has any connection with my problem.
Anyway after trying battery from my other car, checking all the fuses and relays I looked at the electrical schematics and all those things have two units in common - body processing module (that's my current guess) and security module. Or maybe both.
So here I am, humbly asking anyone more experienced for advice on how to proceed to properly find where is the issue. I am more of a mechanical guy than an electrician so any tip is more than welcome.
Thanks everyone who will try to help me in advance!

Hi Marek,
Some of those issues indicate an issue with the SLCM. It is placed on the boot floor and could have got damp/wet inside.
I suggest that you disconnect the battery as soon as possible.
Remove the security module from within the boot fusebox, open it up, and check for any signs of water getting in. Report back with what you find.
Other issues may simply be a result of low battery voltage.

Water damage indeed, but that looks recoverable.
Clean away the corrosion as best you can, using a toothbrush, cotton buds and some isopropyl alcohol. Now that it's not powered, you can even use a rag moistened with distilled water.
Once it's as clean as possible, leave it in a warm place for a day or two to thoroughly dry out before trying it back in the car.
Good luck - you may well have caught it in time.
Check the boot sealing rubber...

So my friend who works with small electronics cleaned and checked the circuits, said everything seems fine. But after reconnecting it didn't change anything. Is there a fuse connected to this unit ?

RESOLVED! After desperately checking all the fuses again and looking into diagrams I thought to disconnect passenger seat module which had been fixed some time ago but was still giving me trouble from time to time. Apparently any faulty module can cause random issues not connected with the thing it's supposed to control. So in the end, damn Ford and their electronics!
