I can't see down the black tunnel on a sunny day, has anyone changed out their gauges to black letters on a white back ground or even yellow. I was told when I bought the car that some s/c cars had them but I've not seen any. Would love to know what speed I'm doing when the cop pulls me over, even with the lights on I cant see the left hand side of the gauge, same with gas and temp. can anyone help. Thanks to the forum that I even have this problem, they helped me get my car running again.

 

I am a new Jag owner and have that same problem and was thinking about sport gauges to see them better. Its that or use the 9500ix for speed value. I couldn't own this car without a radar.

Hope someone else has performed this change and shares their adventure.

 

AFAIK there is no off-the-shelf replacement.

If you search on Google you will find several firms that will do custom overlays.
The if the instrument cluster case and pointers are removed, the old overlay can be peeled off and a new one can potentially replace it.

I also have a RealGauge customer with a background in graphic design who has indicated to me that he is going to make replacement overlays. If he is successful, we may make them available on my website. I'll keep the forum posted on this.

 

Definitely would be interested in this. I love the RealGauge product, but have always been slightly annoyed with the stick-on numbers.

Not only would a new overlay improve the looks, if the numbers and letters are done in fluorescent they will show up at night. The stick-on characters I have now do not.
