Default 99 XK8 MAF Replacement

I am wanting to replace my MAF Sensor and wondered if the ebay one here if fine for replacement.

Mass Air Flow Sensor MAF for Subaru Impreza Forester 2 0L 2 5L 22680AA310 | eBay

I have tried to clean mine with CRC cleaner but it still get P0171 and P0174 from time to time. Actually...when i removed the unit the o-ring was not in the best of shape. So if someone knows where I can get that size of o-ring that would help too.

Thanks in advance!
Mike

Mike,

I'm in Bentonville, AR and I have a MAF from my 98 XJ8 non-turbo. I replaced it doing diagnosis and it was not faulty. You're welcome to it if it will work on your car. Non-turbo should be the same.

PM me if you want it.

Bill

1999-2003 Jaguar XJ8
1999-2002 Jaguar XK8
2010 Mazda 3 2.3 Liters
2007-2009 Mazda 3 Turbo
2006 Mazda 6 Turbo
2010 Mazda CX-7 2.3 Liters
2007-2009 Mazda CX-7
2007 Mazda CX-9
2005-2006 Saab 9-2X
2004-2007 Subaru Impreza
2002-2003 Subaru Impreza 2.0 Liters
2008-2009 Subaru Legacy 2.5 Liters Turbo
2008-2009 Subaru Legacy 3.0 Liters
2004-2007 Subaru Legacy
2008-2009 Subaru Outback 2.5 Liters Turbo
2008-2009 Subaru Outback 3.0 Liters
2004-2007 Subaru Outback
2006-2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca
2004-2006 Subaru Baja Turbo
2004-2010 Subaru Forester

The MAF I have on my 2002 XK8 was salvaged off a Subaru and works fine; it has the same Denso part number as the one it replaced.

Happy Swapping!

Default MAFS O-Ring

For what it's worth, I found a replacement o-ring at my local ACE Hardware in Plumbing. Typical Sunday, cleaned the MAFS and the o-ring was split. Hence the trip to ACE.

If ever I get the "death rattle", I'm hoping that Briggs & Stratton use the same secondary chain tensioners.......

Cheers,
Hamish

The computer uses the top 02 sensors, coolant temperature sensor, knock sensors and maf for a safe air to fuel ratio and timing table purpose combined.

The following are what Ive always done.

1.Add a large bottle of techtron fuel injector cleaner to just a 1/2 tank of gas
run it to 1/4 tank.
2.Replace the fuel filter. And refill with 93 octane to a half tank,*(why do we ignore the fact, these engines require premium unleaded, using less than that, will cause the knock sensors to retard your timing and make you xk8 a slouch).
3.Replace the front most top Oxygen sensors.
4.Replace the air filter.
5.Replace the MAF and O -RING.
6.Throw in a set of fresh ,properly gaped spark plugs.
7.Change the oil and filter as it has the fuel injector cleaner in the oil.
8.Replace the coolant temperature sensor.
9.Do a hard reset to erase the computer formal knowledge and have it adapt to the new repairs/relearn.

You will be amazed of your results,I typically, do not share this information
with too many people.
