I am trying to track down some maint records for my car but do not know how successful I will be
My question is this
Is there away to tell if the transmission in my car has been replaced
I would imagine there is a serial number on the transmission
Can this be cross checked by year more or less
XXX number to XXX number transmissions were manufactured on a certain date
Then if it has a later number that was made in 2006 then I know the transmission is newer ??
A drum and fluid changing has me thinkin
Please bear with me as this may seem like a simple question to some
Anyway I find the site great
Car is put away for winter and looking forward to summer

Any dealer can produce a 'build sheet' using the VIN. It will provide both the engine and transmission serial numbers.
