A few years ago, I resoldered the ABS module board to alleviate the annoying ABS light staring me in the face. It began popping back up occasionally and then stayed on the majority of the time. I was getting ready to go back and check out my handywork but elected to try a different approach for what I figured was a long shot. Here in salty Michigan, tone rings rust up like the vents in brake rotors, but this XK8 is very clean and rust free, from Florida and front rings looked clean enough. In the space of an hour, I had jacked all four wheels up (wife's ****** is hogging the hoist these days) and performed a rudimentary cleaning that seemed to improve the situation. ABS warning came on once briefly, .but it seems happier, for the most part. On the fronts, I stuck a thin wire brush into my cordless drill, rotated the tire with one hand and buzzed the tone ring with the spinning brush. On the rears, I used an 8mm socket to remove the sensor exposing the ring down the hole, spun the tires with an air gun blasting, and then reached down the hole with a thin screw driver to actually scrape each valley. As I previously stated, they looked cleaner than what I'm used to seeing up on my hoist, but if the light stays off most of the time, I'll be a happy camper.
