Default ABS light and traction control message

Since the 7 years I own this XK8 2000 from time to time the ABS light together with the traction control message came on.
Most times it was resolved after a battery replacement.

Now since a few weeks the situation occurs immediatly after a start engine whenever the engine is really warm (after a 30 km drive) and it want go away as long as the engine is warm. Next coldstart the warning is gone.
Anyone had a similar experience?

I also would like to know what to look out for when purchasing a 4.2 XKR 2003 cabrio with 160000kms on the clock.

Regards,
Luc

sounds like a bad abs module.. they are notorious for having a bad solder connection inside where the pump connection wires tie into the board .when cold the solder joint shrinks and the connection is ok as the engine bay warms the solder joint expands and a small crack in the solder reveals itself and causes the abs light to come on .many have cracked the abs case open and have resoldered the joints i sent mine out to be refurbishedavg cost for the rebuild here is about 60 us dollars.
