Default ABS Sensor Cross Reference?

I think I have narrowed an ABS/TRaction control issue to the actual ABS Sensors. My question is does anyone know if there is a Ford equivelant part. The Jag sensors retail for 300 to 700 dollars for a single wheel sensor which I find out of this world.
I have a 2001 XK8 convertible.
Any insight or ideas would be vastly appreciated.

Here's a video on how to clean the sensors by Rev Sam. I would try that first...

Also, the cables that go from the front sensors up to the chassis are a known problem area. It might be a cable rather than a sensor. The cables are only $50 or so.

+1 w/Sam. Front sensors are not Ford parts, unfortunately.

Most people take resistance readings in the large wiring head that's plugged into the ABS module. If one sensor or wire is bad, it easily points you to the problem corner.

I wouldn't think it's the norm that all the brake sensors go out at the same time. If you've already cleaned the sensors, it's more logical that wiring might be a more common problem. The front wheel wiring is more often a problem as they're sometimes yanked or pulled on as the front wheels turn right and left.

You might want to get a second opinion from a qualified independent Jag mechanic before making such a major investment as four new sensors. There are less expensive aftermarket sources of sensors than what you've been quoted. I agree that they're all overpriced, however every brand of brake sensors are ridiculously priced.

See Sticky: XK8 & XKR Frequently Asked Questions / DIY Repair & Maintenance Links / Facts & Data for questions on most all common repairs and diagnosis'.

Gus's PDF checklist on ABS is available on posting #16 of: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ule-fix-51172/

It has PIN #'s to check, etc.

Still expensive. Geek has them for XK8 at $268 each. Ford truck is $58. Gotta be a way around that.

Someone should crossreference that sensor part number, see what comes up. With a little cross-checking, I'm currently using a Toyota MAF sensor and a Lincoln fuel pressure regulator.
