Question ABS Traction Control Light On

I am looking to replace out my ABS control module from a 2005 XK8 P/N DSC 3W8320219 BC (ATE) / 3W83-2C405-AC. The newer ones don't seen to have the same problems with the cold solder joints cracking? I can't seen to find any cross-reference's, I know it needs to be one with traction control.

Thanks in advance

Bob

If you are saying you want to put the 05 in your 00, I doubt it can be done. If it is possible you will need to have someone with IDS/WDS configure it to your car.

Why not just re-solder the pump connections? It's a fairly easy DIY.

Sorry my signature was a older jag, this is a 2005 XK8 looking for a used replacement for the 05 the newer modules are different they don't have the solder joint problems, I think? I still cut the controller open and did not find any bad / cold solder connections on the power inputs.. being there are some many P/N's on the controller's I was hoping other models / years would work..

I'm still confused. What is wrong with the current module? If you look at the VCATS sticker in the trunk near the spare tire you will find the ABS module listed. If you can find a module with all the same letters and numbers, it will work, but may still need to be configured.

Before jumping to conclusions, be sure to firm up your diagnostic. The modules rarely fail on the newer cars. The usual problem area is the harnesses to the sensors. The sensors themselves can fail too, on occasion. Very easy to reach/clean and check out. I believe there are cheap alternative sensors available these days. At this point you likely need to read the (proprietary) error codes so the module can tell you what it thinks is wrong.

Diagnosing is CHEAPER than throwing parts at a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I had a stomach ache so I had my appendix removed)

You likely have a code reader that can only read the generic/standard OBDII codes, so it does not report ABS module errors. You need a code reader that understands the specifics of this car, typically sold as a Jaguar/Land Rover code reader. An example is the Foxwell NT510, but there are many others. Other option is to visit a local shop that can read these code (most independents have comprehensive diagnostics equipment).

P codes (POWERTRAIN codes) will not tell you the problem with the CHASSIS.
You need to read CHASSIS codes (C codes) for ABS faults. (ABS module)

Generic reader will not get you where you need to go. There are several modules in the car.
