Default AC problems, help needed

I have a non functioning AC system. I checked for climate system codes and got the following:

11. Motorized in-car aspirator malfunction Harness / connector fault Sensor open / short circuit Panel fault codes are not stored for motorized in-car aspirator motor failure.

14. Water temperature input malfunction Instrument cluster output Refer to PDU

23. Refrigerant pressure switch malfunction Harness / connector fault Switch open / short circuit Refer to PDU23 Refrigerant pressure low refrigerant charge *Leak from damaged pipe or joint Rectify as required and recharge system

44. Defrost vent motor fault Harness / connector fault Servo motor seized or sticking Flap seized or sticking Refer to PDU

Any and all help troubleshooting these codes and possible solutions would be much appreciated. The car is a 2000 XK8.

There's a combination of faults in the list relating to both temperature and distribution. What are the symptoms that set you off on this code search?

1. inadequate cooling
2. a problem with directing airflow to screen, facia or footwells

Unfortunately, I posted this when I'm away from the car for the week. The AC didn't work when I purchased the car about three months ago. I get warm air out of the vents, and also, it seems even if I turn the heat down to it's lowest setting, I get some heat out of the footwell vent and I think through the dash vents.

I remember spending a little time going through the different airflow positions and they all seemed to work. Switching from defrost to dash vent to floor vent, etc.

You should first check the refrigerant level first. This car 2000 xk8 is equipped with a pressure switch that when the pressure is low the A/C it will not run. Look at the last page and you will see item #5 that is the pressure switch. I had to replace mine.

Do this first then look into the other codes.

+1 - first thing to check should be the gas charge.

I'll be back with the car on Friday. I'll bring it in to a local shop and have them check refrigerant level. If that's ok, could that point to a bad pressure switch?

As I found with mine if its empty or nearly empty you will have to have the system vacuum pumped before adding new refrigerant. Otherwise there will be enough air in the system to keep the temp from getting down where it should. On mine just adding it to get the system pressure right got the vent temp down to about 58-60 but then getting it pumped down and all new stuff got it closer to 50.

Thought I'd update the thread. I took the car in and had the AC system evacuated and recharged. They also added dye. The AC blows ice cold right now. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Thanks for all the help.
