Default Adding hood/bonnet louvers

Since I put a 6.7L motor into my jag I have wanted to add some way to get the excess engine heat out of the engine compartment... I could have bought an XKR hood but that would have been $1,000++ and I really liked the look of the Grantley Design louvers so I decided to go that route. I paid someone to paint them and inquired about the body shop installing them but he said he didn't have the cutting tools currently and he never did one before without repainting the hood. So over the weekend I tackled the job myself with good overall results. I laid everything out using blue painters tape and put the templates I made down and marked them off (after multiple remeasurings to help ensure they were the same on both sides).

After drilling some 3/8" pilot holes I did the corner cuts with a standard skil/jig saw with a metal tooth blade... if I had someone holding the metal on the backside while I cut it helped minimize the vibrations from the reciprocating blade. I then cut the straight sides with my 4-1/2" angle grinder and everything came out pretty perfect. I bought some Bond It PU18 high strength polyurethane sealant and adhesive that is arriving today and I will install and clamp down the louvers in the next couple of days! I will post some more pics when completed.

I have to say you have more guts than I do. It's almost like doing surgery on your kids.
