adhesive for trip computer switch
Good morning all,
My refinished wood trim is arriving today from Madera Concepts in Ca. In anticipation i started removing the wood trim and all the bits that have to be transferred from the old trim to the "new" trim. I was able to remove the air bag tether and Trip computer switch along with all the other stuff that has to transfer. BTW that removal of parts was a LOT more time consuming than expected! it took me about 6 hours to get it all safely removed with out damaging the parts.
My question is the triip computer switch has three aluminum tabs and a LOT of a brown/ amber colored glue same color as old gasket shellac holding it in.( tough to remove!) Any recommendations as to a good adhesive to use upon reinstallation? i was thinking Lexol . Anyone have a better suggestion? So excited to get the new wood to replace the cracked finish on mine. Its about the last of making the interior in my 140,000 mile Car look pretty amazing.
Thanks much
Rich

I would use a dab of mixed J-B Weld at each corner. Once it dries hard the switch will be secure.
if you ever want to remove it, a Dremel will cut off the JB Weld easily.
