Default Wood trim removal

I have a 94 convertible that has the air bag on the rigt side where the glove box use to be and I would like to know how to remove the wood trim PC for refinishing. Also the center PC above the radio with the three clusters. Thanks..

Seach for a post called wood trim removal. I just did mine and there was some info looking there. Also Myrtle Productions in the UK has some videos. Most of the dash pry's off - with the exception of the glove box. I'm not sure about an air bag model, since I was lucky and didn't have to contend with that. The door panels need to be removed for the door trim.

Dr Wood,

Re: the centre panel. If you've got a trip computer fitted, you'll need to remove that first by removing the switch groups on the right and left and then reaching in through the holes to unscrew the trip computer mounts. Once all that is done, the panel is just held in by two plastic-gripped pins, one at each end which are an interference fit.

Good luck

Removing the Wood panel with the airbag behind it requires removal of the dash...

It's true.

I refinished the wood in my 94 xjs. I wound up leaving the airbag cover in place.

I was able to refinish it in place and it came out well. Way easier than trying to remove it. Just sand it and refinish while covering the interior with some sort of plastic.

Nice. That's thinking outside the box. Have any pictures?
