Air intake comes from where?

Air intake comes from where?
Maybe a dumb question but I see the intake that goes into the airbox penetrates into the fender somewhere but where is the actual source where the air is drawn from? I was looking behind the mesh grill and expecting to see some inlet but, if it was there, it was not obvious. So where is that actual inlet?
Thanks,
Doug

It simply takes the air via a funnel which is connected to your air box and sucks air from inside your wing..... Thats it...
It is possible to change things, you could change the position of the air intake and 'pipe' it from the front of the car, but to get a decent size pipe down there takes some cosmetic surgery.
I am using a CDA carbon air box and to get the pipe to the front I have removed metal from the original opening around to the light aperture, as shown in the pic above.

Also, ditto question for me about the carbon air box. I think I have seen these advertised at Elite or some of the other sources but what exactly are the benefits versus using the standard airbox with a K&N or clean stock filter?

As far as I am aware all XKs take there air from inside the wing, not the best arrangement I must admit..... I cannot offer no concrete eveidence as to whether or not the CDA arrangement is better than standard, but if you go by the BMC website info, all the race cars that use them must see something in them?
The reason I went for the CDA was because I wanted something better than the standard, and something that came with a canister/box. I am not a fan of conical filters inside engine bays, all they do is make noise and loose you power.
I went for the biggest CDA they do, the ACCDA100, which fits nicely onto the MAF. You get a flexible pipe which you can route to the front of the car where I will take my air directly from the front of the car. This was why I cut a section of the inner wing away to allow more room for the pipe to fit under the lamp unit once fitted.
I did consider repositioning the air box in the front bumper similar to Aston DB9s but then I thought maintanence would be a pain with the type of front bumper I have, so decided against it.
From other XKs I know that have them, all have said they have noticed an improvement on there dynos, I am happy to take a gamble even if it does cost $250+
