today the temperature in solihull was/is 28deg..my air con struggled..am i expecting to much?

It was 102 F yesterday in Dallas. Mine cooled it off very well, even in traffic.

If, like me you don't often have reason to explore the blue button settings on the A/C, it could need topping up.

I took the precaution of refilling mine before heading down to Gibraltar last month and the difference was amazing. Very comfortable in 95F (36C).

Dennis 28C is only a paltry 82F, it's a balmy 102F here today and mine is icy.

I'd get the pressures checked and go from there.

 

Had to drive for 4 hours on Sunday OAT 31deg C. Was looking forward to a "cool" drive. Then I discovered that the AC was u/s. Fixed today, needed recharge ...cool cat now

 

Mine plugged away nicely at 90-100 degrees F, 122 degrees not so much.
