alarm sound for no reason. xkr 2001

The security system setup varies slightly according to the country in which the vehicle is sold so not all work exactly the same.
One thing that does appear to apply to all is that the alarm sounding does not display an associated warning in the Message Centre.
A number of things that can cause the alarm to go off do set a warning message e.g. either door, bonnet or luggage compartment not properly closed or being opened whilst the vehicle is alarmed.
Other possibilities are vibration (heavy rain or hail stones set mine off) or battery disconnect / discharge.
