Plenty of info on this topic around the forum but I wanted to post a quick shout-out for the Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist franchise in San Antonio TX. I recently took in all four of the Double Five wheels from my 2001 XKR for repair of some minor to moderate curb rash and a general refresh/refinish and was really impressed with the quality, speed and general service from Rodney and his crew at Babcock Road. In less than 24 hours all tires were de-mounted, wheels repaired, stripped, powder coated, re-tired and balanced, all for $200 a pop including a warranty. Not the lowest price I saw being offered but definitely not the highest. Highly recommended.
Honestly that is more than fair for what you got. That is a lot of work to get that job finished. The turn around time is amazing so maybe they weren't too busy at the time. I'm luck to have a shop near me too that can do the job but I have had mixed results over the years. Looks great. I had the corroded chrome wheels on my SUV done in silver powder coat for $550. It was turn a key job, drop it off and pick it up. Might have been a repeat customer special and I didn't need damage repair. So I would have gone for your job too. Your car deserves it. TM
That is a great price and great work. Thanks for the information ; I was able to see that they have a location not far from my area, which is nice to know. From this forum I also learned about a finisher in Atlanta called Wheel Wizard. After purchasing a set of Sepangs, but before mounting them, I sent a couple of the centers to them and they refinished them for I believe $125 each. Of course I had to pay shipping to and from them but it's a good option if you need to ship your wheel(s) off for repair.
