I have an Alpine Radio pckage in my 2004 XK8 which went off line (naturally) when I replaced my battery. I have tried to reactivate the radio in the usual manner ie; I enter the proper safety code and get an indication to "Please wait" as the manual directs HOWEVER the radio does not activate and the "Please wait" continues to show as long as the power is on.When I turn the radio back on, it then shows "CODE" again. I have cycled through this process numerous times and still no radio.
I am perplexed !!! Any ideas about this.

 

GRrrr, so much for my theory and advice to other members that he US models do not have radio codes! and a 2004 at that!!!

sorry, my advice...if it were me, take a pizza or a box of doughnuts to the dealer on a Saturday, and see if they can 'squeeze' you in. I've had the service writer install wiper blades, tighten my air bag on the steering wheel, install a j-gate surround w/o ever asking for a tech. You might get equally lucky if its only getting the radio code to be accepted by your head unit. g' luck!

 

I needed to get the code for my 2004, also. I used one of the code services found online. Cost me a few bucks, but worked perfectly. I have the whole thing on this Forum under "radio codes". Don't attempt throwing guesses at the unit. Some of the radios will "commit suicide" with too many attempts, requiring a radio specialist to repair it! Don't know if Jags do this, but others certainly do.
