Hello Jag folk,
As the title of the thread states, I'm wondering if anybody has taken out the plastic expansion tank and put an aluminum or stainless steel one in and if so, where did you get it?

Regards

Very interested in this. I currently have a OEM tank that failed lying around because I wanted to have someone fab an aluminum one.

I found this meanwhile - maybe this could work for you?: C2C34318

I have a feeling that this is your tank with just another P/N.
Or half price on Aliexpress - this listing or other listings on Aliexpress:

Or... - maybe you can make this work: NC4400AC
I am currently swapping my cats on my X308, and to do so I had to remove the expansion tank.
When I had it in my hand, I thought, maybe this could fit into the old S-Type...

All fine with ali tank but dont for get the expansion tank in the RH front wing .this is an essential part of the system and if not half full will give apparent water loss symptoms

Who would have thought? I can't confirm this, as my S-Types are past the second facelift in 2004, but if you are looking on an older S-Type for a leaky expansion tank, and don't know about a hidden second tank, you'll have a lot of fun...
