Another Avos Twin-Screw Supercharger Kit in USA
Bummer, does anyone have a used kit or parts they are looking to sell? Was going to have the m112 ported but have read mixed reviews about lower end loss and etc which either means they didn't do a good job porting it (taking off to much matterial) or well.. not sure. Full of turkey and lost track of my thought?
Awesome thanks for the heads up. I did direct message him yesterday. I'm not expecting to hear back right away so to the holiday and all. I also reached out to eurotoys and kennebell a while back but no luck.
"There is a developing knocking/rattling sound coming from the engine if I use more than 3/4 acceleration prior to the engine being properly warmed up. Obviously, I avoid doing that, but 'test' that situation on occasion. I keep thinking that the knock noise is a lifter/valve. ... Falconworks thought that is was piston slap at first, but it is a new and developing sound. It began to develop as our weather cooled, but I believe that is circumstantial. They now think that it could be the tensioners. We will know soon!"
Did anyone figure out what was causing this knocking/rattling noise?

I’ll have to reach out to him as I’ve been interested in doing this, and know a few Jag friends of mine who would also be interested in doing the Twin Screw Supercharger upgrade.
Considering the quoted post is almost 6 years old, that boat might have already sailed.
Possibly so, but it never hurts to ask. I know myself and others would be interested in it for sure.
I'm interested too and plan on offering him stacks of money after my first year working as a periodontist.
I wonder if "Jeff in Tucson" is still around. I seem to remember that he blew up the transmission in his twin-screw XKR quite a few years ago. Perhaps he grew weary of spending boatloads of money on that car and got rid of it....
Wouldn't you be better off just buying a faster car? maybe a 5.0 XK R or F Type?
Probably but that's not always why people undertake a project. Having done it, I found it to be an enjoyable, though sometimes frustrating, process.
I was just last week accepted into a specialty residency program in Periodontology. Once I am making the big money I will pay whatever Avos wants for a twin screw kit for my car.
No. This XKR belonged to my late father and has a lot of sentimental value to me. I plan on keeping it until my death and hope that a future son of mine keeps it as an heirloom as well.
I could buy one of those as well, but I want to have my sleeper X100 XKR.
You sound more like someone who is better suited to BMW’s than Jaguars. Jaguar owners are more understated and humble.
I'm just saying, but if it was me wouldn't do this to something with such sentimental value.
My reasoning is that I'd be happy accept it warts and all as the classic it is, Apart from the fact that it wouldn't be or drive like the same car your dad enjoyed driving anymore, it still wouldn't be a truly fast or nimble car by today's standards (the XK/XKR/XK R is a gentleman's GT, no part of it was designed to compete with Ferraris etc). Also doing this would stress the motor a lot more so would make it wear out and get to the point where it is financially not viable or otherwise impossible to repair it anymore A LOT faster. Just my thoughts.

Such a negative thing to say. I don't like BMWs, I like Jaguars. Nothing wrong with wanting more power. To me the X100 is one of the most beautiful modern cars. I have had mine for 6 years now and that's not changing.
My dad was not one to shy away from modifying his cars. He loved speed and I am sure he would've bolted a TS on the XKR had it been available when he had it. I love the car as is, more power would be nice. And if it breaks I will fix it. It's my car and I will do as I please. It's odd that the two of you come to this thread where people have been talking about this for nearly a decade and just decided to take a crap on us who want to have more power. If it's not your cup of tea, then don't post.

Good luck with the xkr. TS is an amazing supercharger however Avros is out of the market but maybe if you pay him enough dough he will comply. Start a new thread once you have procured your TS kit.
