Default Another cat in the house!

As much as I have enjoyed my '97 XK8, I wanted a bit more performance, so I just pulled the trigger on a 2006 XKR. Two owners, 42,000 miles, 99% showroom condition. Nav, seats, upgraded sound, adaptive cruise, black on black...

Beautiful car. Congratulations!

The adaptive cruise is a neat toy, but the automatic braking is a little unnerving the first few times it comes on.

You only live once, good choice. Same color, but you'll notice you'll feel 100% different when driving it.

Well, it finally arrived, dirty from the cross-country trip on the back of the car hauler, but was able to clean it up and put the top down and take her out for my first drive. The seats are wider and thicker than my 97, and seemed to lose some legroom, but much more comfortable. I miss the wood and leather steering wheel, and have to figure out how to make the gauges display. . . minor stuff. The sound system, huge improvement. Acceleration, interestingly enough very smooth and quiet. The dash seems richer, deeper grain. Ear to ear grin.... within five blocks of my home I had a 911 start to dick around, and at the second light someone on a bicycle said "nice car" - - I think I am going to really enjoy this XKR!

You can swap the steering wheel for the woody hybrid, if you really miss it. If its not heated, ebay pricing should be very affordable. I can give you step by step instructions to take the old one off with minimal tools required...torx screwdriver bit and std socket set. Not as difficult as it appears, even with the airbag.
