Another Rear Window Stuck
Just thought I would add my car to the "rear window stuck" counter, just happened yesterday (8/22).
Sounds like one of the cable guides has failed and the cable is wrapped around the motor...sounds quite awlful.
Found the .pdf file that shows me how to get the regulator out.
Going to keep me busy for a couple of days. I am still wondering about replacing both sides???
I'l be in the garage if anyone is looking for me.

UPDATE: right rear window regulator replaced under my extended service contract....yeah for that.
I looked at the failed regulator and it appears it was the cable that broke as none of the plastic wheels or cable-end retainers were broken; is it normal for the cable to break? The cable was wrapped aroundt the spool pretty good!
Anyways, if anyone needs a working right rear window motor, complete with wiring harness....it is your for the cost of shipping. I can send the spool as well if anyone wants that too.
Oh and dealership says the R&R was about $1000.....$600 for just the regulator....so glad I purchased that exteneded service contract....too bad it ends in Nov.....

normally it doesnt break it slips off the bottom wheel. seems the lower part of the bracket flexs allowing this. if this was what happened and you had it replaced at jaguar the tsb for this states both regulators shoul be replaced.
wolfpck1: The bottom wheel appears to be fine. The Jaguar dealership did not give me any details as to what the problem was, they just replaced the regulator assembly. So I do not know if the Jaguar tech cut the cable, although the cable does not show a nice clean cut, it looks like the cable end that goes into the rectangular piece came off or that is where it broke.
With regards to the tsb saying to replace both sides if the cable breaks, no way is the extended service contract going to agree to that. They would only pay to replace what is broken.
Hopefully the left side breaks between now and Nov 17 as that is when the service contract expires.
And once again, if anyone wants any of the parts off of a right rear regulator from a 2006 convertible, they are FREE except for shipping.
