Try and get the Brembo brakes that the XKR used, those are very good in my opinion. Some Redstuff brake pads would also go a long way.

I have just ordered a vacuum gauge to see what we have in the system ..not interested in spending thousands on a brembo set up .

They where standard fitment with the R model cars but yes they aren't cheap to find these days. Upgraded brake pads on the standard model will probably help a lot though. There is a full set of the Brembo calipers on Ebay for £800 if you are interested Jaguar XKR V8 Brembo Calipers full set | eBay

Bad day?
I fitted a hydro boost to my old chevy truck because its brakes were similar to my xk8...after doing so it overpowered the abs (would give a short lockup b4 the abs reacted).
I understand your desire...no help but some insight.

Jaguar already tried it in the early 1990s. (XJS/XJ40-'nuff-said)

Was this under heavy braking only or during normal braking?

I assume your car has 305 mm front brake discs?
You could upgrade to the newer 325 mm.
But maybe this was meaningless..........

I would try different pads first, before any expensive modifications are tried.

what pads are you using now ? As Kuddlesworth mentioned, the ebc redstuff pads are a worthwhile upgrade.

At least in my case they gave my 2002 XKR a substantial improvement in braking performance vs the OEM pads. They are easy on the rotors too.

The Redstuff pads also made a noticeable improvement on my car, but I would still like a better pedal feel. I have bled my brakes enough times to know that the soft pedal feel is a design feature of this car.
