Thumbs up Aston Martin Conversion on Ebay

Looks wrong from the back, but pretty decent from the front. I can't believe its has so many bids.

I think this is at least the second time this car has been up for sale. Not done badly, but the seller hasn't learned that you rarely get your money back on a replicar sale. Even a really nice one. That's why he struggles to hit his reserve with 41 bids so far. You can get a real Aston for the low $30's if you shop around.

I do like the front end view. Nice job.

I'd agree, not bad from the front. BUT.. you can get a late 90s/early 00s DB7 in the 30s, as Jag #4 mentioned. And the add states this is based off of a 99 w/ almost 100k miles. So, for a few thousand more, you can have a really nice genuine DB7 vs. a replica Vanquish based off of a potentially questionably maintained donor XK8.

Also, to quote the add:

"TRY TO MAINTAIN THE REAL THING IF YOU ARE NOT A MILLIONERE! MAINTAINING THIS IS AS EASY AS JAGUAR."

LOL

And I can't be the only one to notice that the exterior is a wrap, and they didn't even bother to cover up the BRG door sills/jambs from the XK8... shoddy workmanship IMO.

This is a little off topic, but there's also a Bugatti Veyron replica built on a... get ready for it... 2002 Mercury Cougar! It's not quite finished, but can be yours for only $33k!

Good luck to both of them. While building a kit car does have some appeal, it's only to the builder. No one gets there investment errr waste of money back on a kit car. It's about the experance of building not the finished product in most cases. IMO

The under-door projection lights proclaiming "Aston Martin" to the pavement really adds to the tackiness.

Thank you; gotta go rinse my eyes now..

It amazes me what some people will do to lessen a beautiful car. But his car, his taste.

No offense, the Jaguar rocks in its current configuration.

Why have a body kit and not the power to back it up lol
