Thanks for all this great info. My 99 has this issue and I'm going to go in the garage and see if I can get it removed.

 

Update: glad I posted as I saw at the bottom of the forum thread that a new facility was available to fix these mirrors. I saw where the original places had gone out of business or stopped doing the work. Will contact Radar-Mirror for assistance. Great resources here in this Jag forum site. Thanks to all who post, you help the rest of us get up to speed on our cars.
