auto inguinity scan tool?
I see that a lot of people use these. Oddly, I can't find a reference for them on the internet - can someone point me in the right direction...?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks h2o!
Once I figured out the(in)correct spelling it all became clear. My guy in Chicago says $250 for the base and $230 for the enhanced module.
There's a base unit on e-bay for $125 or so.

when i got mine, i called them direct and they gave me a bit of a discount for ordering both the basic kit and the upgrade.
But i also ordered the Ford upgrade at the same time.
The best thing about this system is it allows you to view codes that you would have to bring it to the dealer to diagnose. That and you can get upgrade kits to read the advanced systems on other makes AKA:Ford:GM:BMW:ext ext ext...

Thanks. They didn't say anything about a discount - but I didn't ask, either.
$500 is a bit pricey for me but I save a bundle each year doing my own work so it's probably worth it. I'd get the upgrade module for the Corvette if anything ever went wrong with the car - it's been absolutely bullet proof for the 8 years I've owned it...

it is most defiantly worth it. the only way you are going to get better is a get the Ford VCM diagnostic system which works on all ford lines. including jag/rover.
but they cost in the 1500.00 to 5000.00 range on ebay.

I went to the local auto parts store and picked up an Innova 3100 OBD2 code reader and it works great, too good, on my XKR. It shows me all the codes with details and brief explanations. It also has the built in ability to select manufacturer to get specific code information. I think it was around $125.

the only issue with the in store units is they almost always do not allow you to scan systems other then engine control. the AutoEnginuity system allows you to read the base ecu and with the upgrades allows you to read codes and sensor values on every system on our jags. Worth the money unless you want to fork out reall good bucks and by a vcu.
