Talking Bank holiday driving

Hi Guys,
jsut got back from a day out at the Metro centre Gateshead which is about 33 miles South of us. Filled up at Gateshead and when we got home T.B1 was showing a good MPG pics below. Not bad Last 10 miles was a little slow due to congestion.

I drove my 2010 5.0 XKR from Southampton to Toddington services on my way to a Jaguar F-type event, 92.8 miles at an average speed of 60mph - 29.4mpg! I was amazed. "Only" got 26.4mpg on the way home at an average of 64.1mph.

I wish it was possible to stretch his legs a bit more but at this time of the year the A1 is quite congested with all the folks coming up to visit one of the loveliest counties in the U.K or they are passing through up to Scotland.
Loads of caravans and motor homes together with the the usual HGV's and Sunday drivers with hats on that dont know the road.
Oh well it was great weather........

Bit of a no no around here...They closed one road I wanted for the " Cheese Rolling Competition " yes my American cousins that is correct " Cheese Rolling " & when I got to Stroud (Via the very quiet back road ) they had closed the main street " Merrywalks " for an annual fair complete with Rock festival & truck pulling competition . Yep it all happens in my County...Oh yea the X type ran like a dream!!!

Metro Centre on a Bank Holiday Monday! You're lucky you got home the same day.
