Battery Drain - causes?

Hey all, I have a 97 convertible and the battery always drains down if i let it sit for a month. Is this just to be expected, or are there known causes for the battery draining. I'm investing in a trickle charger, and plan to drive it more often too, but I'd like to correct it if its an issue.

Absolutely expectable. The battery will drain with the memory for the radio, the memory settings, and the thing that these cars call an alarm! You shouldn't let a car sit for a month anyway! You should turn the car on everyday. If not, at least 3 to 4 times a week! The gas in the lines will sometimes go bad, and engines were not made for long periods of time without starting!
