Default

I have two tenders for my XKRs; the X100 has a deltran Battery Tender, the X150 has a Jaguar branded CTEK one that the former owner put on. Both work great. Have had Battery Tender units on all my motorcycles for a LONG time and find them very nice to have. Make sure at least that it meets the needs of your battery type, and do it up in the trunk. I just have the Jaguars have tails when they're plugged in. I sewed a full size bath towel sized microfiber around the extension cables so that I don't have the drop cord rub the bumper.

Default Battery minder done and tested

Well, I ended up with a Deltran Battery Minder Plus 1.25 Amp. Tested it on both the Jag and my Trolling Motor Battery. Ran in Charge mode for an hour or so, then switched to Storage mode.
Also found a nice twist lock plug with a cover for when not in use. Should now be all set for six months of summer storage.

on a 2013 XKR, where would you recommend connecting the CTEK negative lead: the battery negative terminal directly, or some other grounding point?

Thanks

Default Not sure it matters nowadays

If you have a modern sealed battery, I’m not sure it matters.

I use the spare tyre holding down long screw thingy, as my ground for my charger, simply to avoid bending the charger clip’s wire connection. Space is tight at the battery’s ground connection

If in doubt just just check continuity/voltage between your Chosen point and the battery’s negative terminal
