Default BG Products AC Service

I've had my XKR for about 7 weeks now and the AC was a bit musty. It really bothered me and my daughter made a few comments.

I suspect age was catching up to it and seemed like a bit more than Lysol was needed.

So I took it to the dealer for a full BG Products AC service. This includes their full coil cleaning.

What a difference. 90 minutes later it was all done. Had a bit of a sweet, minty smell that lasted about an hour. Now the AC blows scent free.

Just an FYI from a satisfied customer. I'm sure there's DYI solutions but the cost was very reasonable to just get it taken care of.

We used to use BG products at the Jag dealer until the sales guy switched to WYNN products so he talked the service manager into switching too.

I liked 'most' of the BG products a little more but WYNN had some great penetrating oils and A/C system flush solvents.

FRIGI-FRESH was my favorite HVAC freshener. I don't know if it is still offered.

I have one can left and I use it on MY Jaguars. The customers get the WYNN product, it is a good product but I still like the BG frigi-fresh.

The odor comes from leaving the system in "recirc" 90% of the time. Recirc closes the fresh air door which leads to mold and mildew formation. Its like leaving the bathroom fan off and the window shut. No fresh air, mold and mildew form and the resultant odors. I sell cars for a living and was a service manager for years before that. Automatic climate controls IMO are mis used or mis understood by the majority of the public! Most all owners manuals state to only use recirc upon a first start in very hot climates and turn it off within a few minutes. Jaguar has the recirc mode on a timer lessening the chance of stale air and odors. I use Fabreeze sprayed into the vent below the windshield from time to time.
