xkr engine number
Found this on the web. Not sure if the location is correct. My 2001 XK8 is near the water pump housing. Nearly impossible to see.

I've been reading up a lot on Nikasil cylinders and it is really interesting. If you have it, you may not need to worry about it at all. Most of these engines (in the USA at least) are perfectly fine as our better petrol has had little sulfur in the early days. High sulfur content was ruining the Nikasil surface.
Nikasil was and still is used in some F1 racing engines and Porsche and others. It transfers heat more evenly, much harder than steel liners, makes for a much lighter engine, and has less friction which allows for a higher top RPM and more torque too.
The AJV8 is an engineering marvel. 440lbs, with superior cooling, lubrication, light weight, etc.
Always use the best fuel, the cleanest fuel you can find.

I'm not too worried about the nikasil engine these days,i had an 1996 xk8 that had a new engine but that was in 2003. The only problem i was thinking of was the chain ect but i removed the cam cover over the weekend and it's got the new chain so happy days
