Bluetooth question, anyone know?

Bluetooth question, anyone know?
For a few years now I've been using the Discount Stereo Bluetooth converter with my Android. Loved it - until . . . I just bought and installed a converter from GTA in my 2005 Toyota Highlander.
Here's the difference: the Toyota unit allows me to change track forward or backwards with the button on the steering wheel. The one in the jaguar requires one to touch the phone screen for this. I can't tell you how much more convenient steering wheel commands are!!!
I must conclude that the GTA unit sends track advance to the Android via Bluetooth, since that's the only connection to the android and the highlander has no Bluetooth capabilities.
Both the Jaguar and Toyota converters are in series with wires that transfer track advance to a disk player. Looks like our discount stereo unit just plain left this out.
Anyone know of converters for our X100s that provides this?
If anyone has a better handle on how this forward reverse process works via Bluetooth, please share.
Thanks,
John

Motes in your eyes
I have two varieties of discount car stereo bluetooth. One, without phone handsfree, (A2D-JAG98 installed in one car) has a bluetooth remote with a very long duration coin cell that I've installed on the top of the skeleton of a cigar lighter. The other, with phone handsfree (A2DIY-JAG98 installed in the other two), has a bluetooth remote with a 12 hour battery (idiotic), that I have installed connected to the car electrical system to avoid having to recharge the damn thing. I rigged the ashtray part of the console for those two. Pics below in the order mentioned...
Of course, I usually use voice control to play with the music app.

I use the round head remote shown in the above post . From discount car stereo, it’s shown on their web site as an option with their wired in Bluetooth:
( Optional wireless remote (+$11.98) )
it functions fine and come with a clip for attaching to the steering wheel. Easy to inadvertently dislodge though when exiting the car, so I have mine in the lighter location also.
