Default Bluetooth Solution - hidden

I thought I would share with everyone the success I have had with the Avantree CK310 purchased from Amazon. It is a very small Bluetooth transmitter for the audio system. It can be used with its internal battery or permanently connected to a usb power source. I have replaced my cigarette lighter with a usb outlet as documented elsewhere. The unit is small enough to sit under the cover adjacent to that and powers on when the car ignition is on. I was pleased that it works well with the antenna mast down. I have installed a switch to allow me to toggle that when the audio system is on. The sound is good to my ear!!

I just installed BTA-JAG98 and it only took about 20 minutes. This is a just for music streaming but they do hands free kits as well. Highly recommend.
It costs more but the audio quality is excellent.

I've had one of these for about 5 or 6 years and love it. Agree that install was quick and easy. Much better sound than the units that convert a signal to FM to then be picked up by the car's radio. My unit was the A2D-JAG98, but looking at their website it now looks like the BTA is the current model and works the same way.

Did you have to add the fuse they refer to since you have the Alpine Premium sound system?

Default The best solution

Hello,
I own a 2006 XK8 Victory Edition with Bluetooth integrated into the radio. It's useful for receiving and making hands-free calls, but the Bluetooth function is limited to that. I also enjoy my CD charger, but what I missed the most was the ability to stream music from my phone to the radio. I tried using a cassette adapter connected to my cellphone, but the sound was terrible, not to mention that I had to plug in the iPhone which no longer has a jack.
I decided to buy a simple little Bluetooth transmitter from China to plug into the 12-volt socket. Eureka... the Bluetooth connection was effortless, and the wireless FM connection offers astonishing sound quality. Now, I use Spotify no matter where I go, enjoying music of extreme quality.

You can receive phone call too

Moreover, when using GPS apps like Waze or Google Maps for navigation and selecting the voice via Bluetooth, you receive navigation instructions through your radio. Personally, I activate only the alerts, and you receive loud and clear notifications for speed camera photos, radar, police presence, or accidents.
For $6.95 CAD, stock up—you won't regret it.

Seriously?? If this works as you say at this price it is a no brainer. What I have currently been using is an ION Bluetooth Cassette Adapter which has worked very well and sound is good but what I don't care for is the wheels in the adapter going around when it is in the cassette player. Also the fact that you have to remember to charge the adapter. This little transmitter that plugs into the cigaratte lighter would be great and I might give it a try.

Try it. I have a similar deal and it works surprisingly good. I tried a cassette adaptor but the player kept randomly spitting it out so I got one of these and glad I did.

they supply piggyback fuse holder that works just fine.

I've had my Discount Audio setup working very well with the Alpine Premium system for about 6 years.

the sound quality is just as good (or bad) as a CD. Much better than the FM units. Worth the extra time and money IMHO.
