Default Brake fluid change

Preparing to change brake fluid in my 2005 XK8. I just received my motive power bleeder. Just got a new large bottle of DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid. My question is the DOT 4 synthetic fluid OK for my Jag?

Jaguar recommends SUPER DOT 4 brake fluid for your car.

Thanks motorcarman,
Seems all DOT 4 brake fluid is not synthetic. I guess I should get the Pentison Super DOT 4.
The world is getting to complicated for this 70 yr old man!

I use the synthetic DOT 4 in numerous vehicles including my 2002 XKR.

Also use(d) it in various vintage cars. From Triumph Spitfire, TR-4a, Jaguar e types , to Ford based vintage cars like the 65/66 Shelby Mustang GT-350’s, Ford Galaxies, etc.

Never any braking issues, and often a perceptible reduction on brake fade on those cars that were susceptible to it.

Theres absolutely no danger in using the synthetic DOT 4. It has a (better and) higher boiling point than the non-synthetic types.

Yes, the conventional product will work. But the synthetic product does the same job better. Just like synthetic lubricants.

Many of these “better” products were not widely available when these cars were new. But that was then, and this is now.

Jack, thanks for asking the question. I'm getting ready to do the same thing on my kitty. Looks like you're just up the road from where I live on Lake James. Happy motoring.

You are very welcome Mountaincat.
Yes I'm here in the foothills. I can see the Blue Ridge Mountains from my front yard after the leaves fall off the trees.
