Default Brakes

Hi, I started hearing some chirping from the front brakes and I'm trying to sell the car (2005 xkr) so I figured I would order some pads (hawk ceramics) and get them replaced. Finding someone to replace pads with my parts is not easy here in Acworth Ga. I did find one shop that was willing to do it but said the pads and rotors both had to be replaced. The car has a little over 32k on it so it seems to me that is a little soon for rotors to wear out especially since I have no vibration at all in braking just a chirping every so often. Do these rotors look like they need replacing? The first 2 pics are the left front and the second 2 right front. Thanks for any and all help!!

The thing that counts on rotors is thickness (just like on your brake pads) and are they warped (not in true). Hard to tell either from the pics, but if you look in the DIY stickies I think the recommended thickness for rotors is listed.

Many mechanics replace rotors on every new pad install, but it is not necessary to do it that often. Unless the brakes have been abused in some way.

I'm going to do my Factory optional Brembo brakes on my 2005 XKR. After my BMW M3 loving son mocked for paying the JAG dealer $4,000 last brake job, he said he would put them on for me. When I got a quote from a local high end installer here in Milwaukee to see where the labor should be, I was puzzled. Field's Jag had done my brakes for $2,640 on the front and $1,760 on the rear- hence the mocking from my son. The local guy said he wanted $1,456 for the front. That included rotors. Do I really need to change rotors (discs) every time? They are slotted and cross drilled, but look fine. The guy said Brembos warp the discs to concave and grinding them to flat takes off too much thickness. I thought since I had replaced rotors last time I only needed pads. What do you think of the local guy's remarks?

hi, GGG are these dimensions good on all jaguars ... mine is a 2001 xk8... i put rear brakes in last week but didn't cut or replace the rotors... did it my self with some help at house... rotors didn't look to bad, do you think i screwed up a lil bit.? or will they last as long if i did replace or cut them.
