I know a lot of you don't like the body side molding on an XK, but it saved me again. I just noticed a large scratch on it on the driver side, and even cut into some. Side panel was not damaged. A little touch-up paint will take care of it.

 

+1, i can't imagine what my door would look like if that BSM wasn't there...no matter how hard I try to avoid the loonies!

 

In a perfect world our XK8's would be smooth, slippery and elegant as they were originally designed... unfortunately we live in world of grocery carts, children, and people who for some unknown reason park next to us even when we're in the back of the lot out of the way!

Has anyone had any experience with the temporary door bumper guards?

 

On which end?

 

Not sure I understand which end?---Temporary BSM's. I've seen some big black rubber guards, but a nice set of painted (car color) would be nice for the overnight stay at a hotel or parking in a mall which I try to avoid.
