Bye bye Jaggy!
Hi, have not posted anything in a long long time. I've been busy doing a bunch of important stuff, like getting married (see picture), move my wife from Dallas to Austin, going on honeymoon (see picture) etc.
Today, the day finally came, when we have to say goodbye to this great GT. The car has been really good to us. Some of the highlights:
- Driven from the Bay Area, to Texas, via LA-Phoenix-Las Cruces-Texas Hill Country
- Had the car up to .... err ... let's just say really really fast .... on an empty stretch of highway of West Texas
- Numerous road trips around Texas and New Mexico
- Shown side by side with a newer XKR on Jaguar Drive Alive event
- First date, with my wife
- Annual Texas wildflower road trips
The car found a new owner from Southern Cal. He's using a car buying service (ProCar Consulting), which is very good and very professional. The owner - Jim Stienke - used to play for the NY Giants in the 70s - is a delight to work with. I highly recommend him.
Thank you to all of you forum members, who have been very helpful. Whenever I have questions about the car, this board never fails me. My Jaguar itch is by no means cured, if anything it's probably getting stronger now that I have to go through a withdrawal phase .... LOL. I'd probably get a cross-over first, then plan for the next Jag adventure.

Congratulations (on the marriage) and sorry to hear about the Jag. I suspect you are not the only one on this forum, who has had to set something aside for the immediate demands of life. I know I have been there more than once.
However, you have a lovely wife and a good start together it seems. A Jag will come back when the time is right.
Good Luck to you.

Hey Bob, sorry to hear that the Jag is going, but onwards n upwards.
Congratulations on your marriage and I wish the best of everything for you and your lovely wife.
Please remember, you'll always be welcome here, Jag owner or not.
Best
Jim

Congrats - she's lovely and you have a great pair of canines as well. I certainly understand that life-changing events sometimes cause us to have to enlarge our vehicles as well. The right Jaguar will be waiting for you down the road after you settle in and regain your focus....
Best wishes for a long and prosperous marriage....

You can always get a Jaguar bottle opener for your honey moons to remember the car and the good times you had in it.
Your wife and family will fulfill your future endeavors ,better than anything else can, take it from a family man.

We wish you all the best, Bob. It sounds like there are many memories associated with your XK, and as such, any other mode of transportation will fall short of such expectations. We hope to see you back here in the next few years with another jaguar. Enjoy your newish marital status!
