Ok, so I have a 1997 XK8 coupe. My a/c compressor spins when I hand test it with engine off. I haven't found any obvious fuses blown or wiring problems. I put a manifold gauge set on the system, evacuated and started the charging process. If I run the system from a zero charge, the compressor cycles and runs for the approximately first 12oz. of R134 freon. After that, the compressor won't turn on and when I pull the codes it keeps pulling #23. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem? I am fairly competent with most things mechanical, I am just trying to keep from beating my head against the wall when someone has probably had similar issues and/or more experience with Jaguars.

There is a high pressure sensor in the line next to the radiator. I suspect it is reporting a false high pressure problem. A number of folks have had to replace that sensor.
