My 1999 xkr has a slight crack in it which causes oil to leak into a spark plug well when i fill with oil.
What cam covers are suitable as replacements, I will be going to a breakers (wreckers...) to get a suitable replacement.. Any help would be useful, then.. which gasket would go with the cam cover as certain sets go with certain covers it seems..
Here's a snippet from the JEPC showing the various permutations:
My first thought was that you could probably use a cover from the AJ26 (and the part #s for the LH 'B' bank are the same above). However the cover gaskets changed after engine # 9810290000:- they got skinnier and are not a good fit in the earlier items
The AJ27 motor was also used in the X308 XJR if you can find one.
Thanks.. just puled the cover off.. i think its an early one with the spark plug hole seals joined together, plus the cover that the oil vent hole is made of plastic.. this was supposed to have been changed when i went to a 'reputable' independant jag garage to get my heads done many years ago.. christ knows what else those bodging %$Łtards have not done properly...
Just a comment, when I pulled the cam cover on my original engine to check the tensioners there was a crack, had to grab one off a parts car to reseal it properly. Seems common.
