Heads milled to 9.5. Engine was put together with care and all those moving parts are still working beautifully here some 50,000 miles later.....I know it was stopped-up Breather's that caused my problem because after all the work that Joe did on the Engine, it still smoked....Until we changed out the Cam Covers, which removed the stopped-up Breathers from the Engine.......No Smoking has occurred since and I have around 50,000 miles on the re-build....!

The Gentleman has not cleaned the Filters nor has he completed the cleaning of the Filters as I read his email....If it still smokes after he completes the job then I am sorry that was not the problem....All I know is what happened in my case!

Billy Clyde @ Cinco Ranch
In maxxs' original post he said he had a chipped valve and had everything redone. I was asking Maxx.

I greatly appreciate everyone weighing in on this. For the record, the chipped exhaust valve was what led to the valve job. The work was done by one of the better shops in my area and I closely followed the process every step of the way. The work included (obviously) replacing the exhaust valve as well as valve seats, guides, valve seals and re-shimming to get the proper valve clearances. The amount of smoke didn't change from pre to post-valve job and the car runs better than it ever has. The smoking seemed to be coming from both exhaust pipes which may or may not mean both banks are involved. For what it's worth, I had previously replaced the right cam cover (the one I just removed) with a used one about two years ago because the fitting on the side that's linked into intake manifold was cracked. I don't remember if that head was badly sludged up. There has to be a reason for this and since and, to eliminate the other cam cover as a cause of the problem, I'm going to pull that one too.
I've attached some pictures taken during valve job.
